SUMMARY:Hope and Dream 10\, 2022
DESCRIPTION:  \nRegister here at www.hopeanddream10.com\nHope and Dream 10 will take place on Sunday April 3rd 2022 in aid of the Hope Cancer Support Centre CLG. We we look forward to your participation and support. \nSimilar to last year\, 100% of the proceeds will again go to supporting our services for clients. These include counselling\, reflexology\, massage\, MLD\, bra and prosthesis fitting along with all our support groups. We are currently beginning the process for redeveloping the Centre and incorporating the new premises into the old. It is important to note that a completely separate funding stream will be utilised to fund the development and no Hope and Dream 10 proceeds will be used for this development. \nThe last 2 years have been a huge challenge due to the Covid 19 pandemic. We are aware that some people have expressed a wish to participate in a virtual event. Therefore we are delighted to offer this choice this year along with the option of 10 km and 10 mile. This does however create an additional administrative challenge and we would ask that you please read the FAQs at https://www.hopeanddream10.com/faqs/before you register for the event. \nHope and Dream 10 continues to be a major event in the South East. The money raised over the past 10 years has made a huge difference to the quality of life for hundreds of people across County Wexford. We hope that each participant will raise as much money as possible for the Hope Cancer Support Centre. \nSo please\, do the best you can…if we do nothing….nothing will happen. \n

SUMMARY:Hope and Dream 10\, 2021 Virtual Event
DESCRIPTION:As no doubt you are aware 2020 was a very challenging year for the charity sector and the Hope Centre experienced a significant loss due to the temporary closure of our Charity Shop and reduction in other fundraising activities. We were fortunate to be able to continue to provide our services due to the receipt of additional state aid funding. In Autumn 2020\, we purchased an adjoining building to our Centre at 21 Weafer Street\, Enniscorthy with the intention of expanding our facilities due to ever increasing demand for our services. \nIn line with the Board of Director’s 5 year strategic plan\, 100% of the proceeds raised from Hope and Dream 10\, 2021 will help the Hope Centre to continue to provide existing services and develop the new building and plan for increased services. \n‘Hope and Dream 10’ has become a major event in the South East. Since 2012 an amazing €1\,334\,795 has been raised! This money has made a huge difference to the quality of life for hundreds of people across County Wexford . Our goal is to register 2\,500 people this year and have each participant raise as much money as possible for the Hope Centre. Our aim is that all sponsorship money will go directly to the Hope Centre and race costs will be paid for by our invaluable sponsors. \nSo please\, do the best you can…..if we do nothing….nothing will happen.

This has had a dramatic impact on funds raised for organisations like the Hope Centre and we want to take on this challenge to try to help. \nPhil and Sue will start from Wexford Quay each day at 9.30 and cycle various 60K+ routes within Wexford County… Come\, rain\, wind or shine we will go out! \nWe hope you can support us in any way you can\, however small. \nPhil & Sue

SUMMARY:Webinar on "Exploring Sexuality and Intimacy after a cancer diagnosis"
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to let you know Cork ARC Cancer Support House are hosting a ‘Exploring Sexuality and Intimacy after a Cancer Diagnosis’ Webinar that will take place on Wednesday 26th May from 10am-12pm.  \nCancer and the treatments used for cancer can impact how a woman feels about her body\, her sexuality\, her attractiveness and her confidence with being intimate. This is very often because of physical challenges such as pain\, scarring\, loss of how a body part looked\, and sometimes the loss of a body part\, or a body function\, some surgeries\, and some of the treatments can change your natural ability and ease to be intimate with a partner and have sexual intercourse. The other side effects of fatigue\, low mood and energy\, low libido\, altered body image\, anxiety and fear add to the psychological and emotional effects for a woman and how she feels about herself. \nThe impact of all the above brings challenges to a woman’s close relationships\, and intimacy can be a very real struggle. It can hamper a woman in regaining a sense desire and that feeling of being alive\, very often at a time when that close intimate connection is really needed. \nSexual intercourse and intimacy issues are often difficult topics for many and sexual dysfunction remains under diagnosed and under treated. However communicating about these issues is the first step in dealing with them. That is why we are bringing you this Webinar. You will hear from Yvonne O’Meara\, a systemic psychotherapist and psychosocial oncologist\, and Orla McCarthy\, a women’s physiotherapist who both have a special interest and a wealth of experience in helping women with these problems. \n \nTo register: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/2902992587255488524 \n
